800HP Super Snake!

The Shelby name may be plastered on the side of the GT500, but that car is mostly the result of what Ford thinks the enthusiast wants in an American supercar. Shelby has something a bit more potent in mind and has been offering a special Super Snake package that it will add onto a GT500 for a while not.

Shelby America has now announced that it is offering its Super Snake package for the 2011 GT500 with new visual queues to set it apart from the previous Super Snake cars and a new option with more power. The new package has a handling pack with new stabilizer bars and struts among other things.

The transmission gets a 3.27 axel ratio and the supercharger is upgraded to at least 660HP and 590ft-lb torque. The real news here is that there is a new optional super charger for the package with a special Kenne Bell blower that puts the Super Snake at 800hp. A 750HP kit is also available and the price of that 750HP kit is $30,245 on top of the price of the car alone.
