Verizon Replacing Droid 2 With Droid 2 World Edition?

Sorry, early adopters.

If you bought a Motorola Droid 2 right after launch, prepare to be ticked. BGR has heard that the Droid 2 will be discontinued shortly. It will be replaced by the World Edition Droid 2.

The World Edition is the same as the current Droid 2, but with added GSM capabilities. A Verizon leaked photo shows the Droid 2 marked "(while supplies last)" which definitely lends a little credence to this rumor. This move would make things easier on Big Red's inventory guys, and also allow them to easily market the D2 to both businesses and frequent travelers.
