Sony cameras and camcorders at Photokina

Sony has announced the gear that it is showing off at Photokina in Europe. Among the items on display are the Sony Alpha A55 DSLR, the NEX-5 point and shoot and the NEX-VG10E camcorder. The A55 is one of the first translucent mirror cameras on the market and allows fast shooting with continuous AF in video and photo modes. This camera debuts a few weeks back for the first time.

Sony is talking about a new firmware for the NEX-3 and NEX-3 digital camera that bring autofocus when using A-mount Sam and SSM lenses with an optional lens adapter. Sony is also shoeing off its line of HD camcorders.

Those camcorders include the VG10E with its large Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor. The camera has a lot more features. A cheaper and simpler camera at the show is the Bloggie Touch aimed at the user wanting to upload easily to YouTube. Sony is also showing off more accessories and other items at the show.
