A touchscreen iMac is long overdue. Today, Digitimes reports that the Chinese-language newspaper Commercial Times claims that Apple will release a 22-inch touchscreen iMac in 2010.

The Commercial Times sees the 22-inch iMac touch being manufactured by Quanta and the Taiwan-based Sintek Photronic supplying the touchscreen panels.

Apple has made multi-touch a must have feature for smartphones, but has let HP and others be first with multitouch All-In-One PCs and laptops. Last October before the launch of the new iMacs, I already wanted to see an iMac touch.

Currently Apple offers a 21.5-inch and 27-inch iMac in their store.
