Taking rechargeable batteries to the XTREME.

Sanyo has just launched the Next Last Word in rechargeable batteries. They've sent out a press release announcing the coming of the XX eneloop AA-size battery. These 2500 mAH batteries promise more stable voltage and longer life-spans than other rechargeables. Engadget says these new eneloops deliver some 25% more power than models currently on the market.

The XX eneloop batteries will go on sale in Europe this December. They are being marketed towards professional photographers and other folks who need Serious batteries for Serious work. Low-discharge rates, reusability and high storage capacity make these things perfect for intense jobs. No price has been given yet, but don't expect the Cadillac of batteries to be cheap.
