GoPro gets a cheaper option

I have a camera from GoPro called the HD Motorsports Hero that I use for car reviews here at I4U. If you have read any of those car reviews, you have seen the quality the camera has for video despite its small size. That camera isn’t cheap and for those wanting a similar camera at a lower price GoPro has a new offering.

The new camera is called the HD Hero 960 and it is similar in looks and performance to my Motorsports Hero camera. The main difference is that the max resolution of the 960 is 1280 x 960 meaning no 1080p, but the thing can do 720p.

Files sizes in those resolutions are generally too large for online video anyway. The 960 also loses the expansion bus on the bottom so it can't use the extra battery or LCD. The 960 ships with a head/helmet mount, a flat surface adhesive mount, and a curved surface adhesive mount. It can be purchased right now for $179.
