Now you just need a 3D TV and glasses

The Ryder Cup will be broadcast live just like it is every year, but this time will be the first time it will be beamed out to TVs across the UK in 3D.

It's going to be the flagship presentation on Sky 3D, the very first dedicated 3D TV channel in Europe. Unlike in the US, 3D programming adoption overseas has been much slower.

However, unlike the only major 3D channel in the US, ESPN 3D, Sky 3D will be airing a variety of content. Monsters vs Aliens and Bolt will be broadcast in 3D over the channel in the near future. Other movies are also in the scheduling plan.

Other sporting events, including matches from the Premier League, will be aired as well.

"With HD once you've got it you understand it, but 3D TV is a much easier sell because it's just such an improved viewing experience," said Sky's John Dollin in a BBC story

The new 3D channel is being packed into Sky's HD+ channel package.
