The iMac Touch is rumored since a long time

A lot of Apple fans would like to see Apple to release an iMac with touchscreen. I argued for an iMac Touch already a year ago in this report. Today a new report on Digitimes suggest that Apple is working on an iMac Touch. Sintek Photronics has reportedly sent samples of their projected capacitive touch panels to Apple. The iMac Touch is rumored to have a cutting edge one-glass solution, which integrates the touch sensor and the cover glass.

Back in January a rumor said that Apple would release a 22-inch iMac with touchscreen in 2010. Last month an Apple patent of an touchscreen iMac appeared that looked also very promising. I do not think that this will still happen, but I think in 2011 we will finally see an iMac with Touchscreen. HP is since a while now offering their TouchSmart All-in-One PCs and there are several other vendors offering touch enabled All-in-One PCs. I am not sure why Apple is holding back as they promote multi-touch everywhere else.
