John Gruber, a declared Apple fan, talked about his first Windows Phone 7 experience on his Podcast. BusinessInsider extracted his statements about Windows Phone 7. Gruber came away impressed after spending 5 minutes with a WP7 device last week at a conference.

The Windows Phone 7 keyboard is supposed to be fantastic, browser seems good and there is very little latency for touch input and scrolling says Gruber. His verdict for now is that Windows Phone 7 is that he prefers it over an Android phone. If he would need to put away his iPhone for a month he would rather use a Windows Phone 7 than an Android device.

Windows Phone 7 has a chance because of its boiled down functionality and a small set of killer features like the interactive home screen and the Xbox integration. As reported Microsoft will unveil Windows Phone 7 on October 11th.
