It's not a video game says Lexus

Lexus has announced the unveiling of what it claims to be the world's most advanced driving simulator. The new simulator is housed in Higashifuji, Japan and is the largest and most complex driving simulator ever made. The thing consists of a 15-foot high dome that is 56-feet in diameter.

The entire dome is on a three-axis hexapod system. That is mounted on rails that span the building allowing the simulator to simulate the feeling of acceleration and mimic speeds up to 186mph with a turn angle of up to 330 degrees.

The pod tips forward with braking and back with acceleration and HD images are projected around the real Lexus car inside for a realistic experience. The simulator was created to allow engineers to develop new tech for Lexus cars and test that tech in the virtual environment.
