Proximity sensor issues are a rite of passage.

Windows Phone 7 has its first bug...several weeks ahead of its launch! ZDNet reports that the HD7 handset has a proximity sensor glitch that has been spotted in review units shipped with pre-release firmware. This bug has caused some models to activate their screen while calls were in progress.

This can cause calls to hang up or switch to speakerphone on accident. A final WP7 ROM is due out later this week. Whether or not it will fix the sensor issue is unknown, but hopefully this error will be taken care of well ahead of the ship date. For more info on the HD7, check out our early analysis.
