Android 3.0 SDK Hitting Next Week?

Yes please.

The software development kit for Android Gingerbread (3.0) may arrive by next week. AndroidPolice reports that "sources" have stated that the SDK will be going public at some point next week. This means details about new OS features and access to the emulator that will give us our first glimpse of Gingerbread in action.

Android is on a 6-month release cycle. Next week will put us at month 5 since the launch of Froyo. This could mean that we will see Gingerbread hit the first devices in November or December, right in time for the holiday tablet rush.
