Yesterday Verizon announced to carry the iPad in there retail store. Since there is no CDMA iPad, they offer only the Wi-Fi iPad bundled with a Mifi box and a month-to-month data plan. If you are really plan to regularly use 3G connectivity on your iPad then to carry an extra box around just plain sucks. Only option is the iPad 3G+Wi-fi with via AT&T. AT&T is also now selling the iPad retail starting October 28th.

For me TechCrunch identified the only good thing about the Verizon iPad deal. Apple and Verizon are working closer together increasing the chances of the Verizon iPhone in 2011 and maybe even a CDMA iPad. Despite consistent rumors about the Verizon iPhone from the WSJ and NYC Times there is real evidence that the Verizon iPhone is really happening.
