Making something look "white" is harder than it seems.
The white iPhone 4 has been an elusive beast for a while now. Months after the phone's launch a second color option still has yet to launch. Journalists from Pocket Lint managed to snap a picture of a pre-launch white iPhone 4 at a press event. When asked how he procured the device, the owner stated that Apple's Cupertino campus is lousy with white iPhones. A buddy "fixed him up".
So why hasn't this ivory damsel seen a wider launch? Because the two suppliers Apple has making the bodies can't get their shades of white to match. Until that issue is solved and both suppliers meet Apple's exacting standards, we're unlikely to see a white iPhone 4 hit stores.
