Great soudn and protection for your iPhone and more

Specifications

The iMainGo X is a square case that measures 5.7" x 3.8" x 2.4". It is designed so that you can see your device and control touchscreen devices like the iPhone through the clear window of the case. It has an internal rechargeable battery and will sell for $69.95.

In Use

The iMainGo X looks like a big case when you first take it out of the box. It has a zipper around the middle that opens to allow you to place your iPhone or other device inside the case for protection. The outside of the case is made from a rugged material and the inside has foam to protect the player inside. I tested the iMainGo X with my iPhone and it fit into the device compartment of the iMainGo X without any issues.

The compartment has a foam-backed door that snaps in place to keep your device secure when you open the case. The speaker system has an internal rechargeable battery so you can listen on the go. It comes with a power adapter as well that you plug into the front of the case when it needs charged or to play using an AC outlet.

The little case reminds me a lot of a cassette from back in the day the way it is designed in the front. It has dual inputs on the front panel for headphones or to allow you to daisy chain multiple iMainGo X units for more sound. The front also has a mic input and the port for recharging the internal battery.

I plugged my iPhone into the speaker system and zipped it up for some testing. The thing sounds fantastic. It has very deep bass or a small speaker system and the bass is clear and clean with no distortion. It also has nice mid and high range sounds that provide a good overall listening experience. I am very impressed with the quality of sound the iMainGo X produces.

The clear back window of the iMainGo X is plastic, but it allows full control over the touchscreen of my iPhone. I could adjust the volume of the sound and change tracks using the normal controls of my iPhone. The only issue I have with the iMainGo X when using a music phone is that you will have to open the case to take the call since the mic is inside the case on your phone. You can hear the person who calls thanks to the speakers; they won't be able to hear you well. I would assume if you were using a Bluetooth device, you would be able to talk without any issues using the Bluetooth device.

Verdict

Pros

  • Battery powered
  • Great sound
  • Works with touchscreen devices

Cons

  • Music phone calls don't work well in the case

Conclusion

The iMainGo X is a great portable speaker system that has fantastic sound quality. This little speaker case has awesome bass.
