Android 2.2, worldwide online ordering Confirmed

The much ballyhooed Adam from Notion Ink may be landing very soon. Like, "on or before Christmas" soon. If it doesn't beat the big holiday, it may still launch before New Year's. At worst, we're looking at a launch around CES 2011.

This latest blog entry from Notion Ink reveals that, and states that pre-ordering will start in early December. The Adam's charger has already received FCC approval, and the full device is presumably not far behind.

The launch OS has been confirmed as Android 2.2. Upgrades will come "as soon as its out there". Notion Ink also had this to say about the above picture:

"On the right side of this image you see a small vertical section. This is where the your songs are minimized, when you are not viewing the music panel. This is the thick state mode (which collapses to a smaller edge) where you are interacting with this edge (like forwarding, changing song, pausing, reading lyrics, etc) "

This portion of the screen can apparently be customized to display everything from song lyrics to new tweets and Facebook status updates. Pretty nifty. It looks like Notion Ink might give us all a Merry Christmas after all.
