The next generation iPad (iPad 2G) is coming closer. 9to5Mac reports that they heard that Apple filmed a TV commercial for the iPad 2G in New York in October. Apple has supposeldy hired David Sims for the new iPad commercial.

David Sims did for instance a TV ad for the Burberry The Beat fragrance. Based on this ad the new iPad 2 ad could become pretty cool. Maybe Apple is doing something new with their next iPad ads. The current iPad ads are a bit boring for my taste.

Apple has filmed the commercial with the current iPad. So do not expect any spy shots. Apple will add the new iPad 2G during post production of the ad. Which is rather easy to do as the new iPad will be pretty similar to the current one. The only difference will be the two cameras.

The current Apple iPad is set to become one of the bestselling holiday gifts this season. It is not expected that Apple will launch a new iPad this year. The new iPad 2G will most likely be released in Spring 2011.
