Since a couple days Verizon and other carriers are selling the Apple iPad in their stores. Only AT&T can offer 3G service for the iPad Wi-Fi+3G. The solution Verizon is offering is a bundled MiFi device that provides Wifi access to their 3G network.

In the new TV ad Verizon is trying to make the best of it and sells their MiFi device as advantage: You get access to Verizon's network. That is it. Sprint actually has more to offer with their Overdrive 4G Mobile hotspot. If you are in a 4G coverage area you can get much faster internet access than what AT&T offers for the iPad 3G models.

I see the Mifi gadgets ideal for people who have more than one Wi-Fi device that they want to use on the go. The Verizon LTE MiFi device is rumored to be released early next year. If you just want to connect the iPad to the net while away from Wi-Fi get an iPad Wi-Fi+3G. This way you don't have to carry around an additional device.

For many consumers who are waiting for the Verizon iPhone this ad is fueling their hope. You can watch the new Verizon iPad commercial below.
