Mac App Store coming soon?

Rumors about coming Apple offerings and products never cease to end. Once one rumor is proven true or false, there are always tons of other rumors that are right behind the originals. We all know that Apple has a Mac App Store coming soon, what Apple didn’t give up was a launch date for the Mac App Store.

If you are a Mac head, you will be glad to hear the latest rumor from the tech company. A source cited by MacRumors claims that Apple is targeting December 13 for the launch of the App Store for Macs. MacRumors cites AppleTell as the source and AppleTell cites an "inside source" with the tips on the Mac App Store.

According to this source, the Mac App Store is set to launch on Monday December 13. Apple supposedly told developers to have their software ready to go by December 6. However, since today is December 6 that launch is not likely. So far, there is no official story on when the Mac App Store will land. Steve Jobs is reportedly pushing hard for a launch ahead of Christmas. Apple is said to be ahead of schedule on the launch.

Naturally, this rumor and all others have to be taken with a grain of salt. Anyone can claim to have inside info on something that they are just making up. Still, a launch ahead of Christmas for the Mac App Store would make a lot of sense and this close to Christmas, the sooner the better for Apple and the hoards of Mac users looking to buy for the holidays.
