Angry Birds iPhone 4 Cases: Awesome Stocking Stuffers?

The game has been downloaded 42 million times.

The Angry Birds phenomenon (if anyone can explain it to me, please send an email) just keeps...phenomena-ing. Phenomenating.

More stuff keeps happening, is what I'm trying to say. And today, that "stuff" crossed the line from more versions of the same weird game to real physical products. GEAR4 has just sent out a press release announcing the launch of the first line of Angry Birds iPhone 4 and iPod touch (gen 4) cases. There are three different designs so far: Red Bird, Yellow Bird and Pig King.

Angry Birds is currently the #1 game in the App Store in some 69 countries. It has held a spot in the top 3 downloaded US games since Spring. People love Angry Birds, almost more than can possibly be healthy. I'm pretty sure I've seen a dude nearly run down by a bus because he couldn't stop playing it on his iPad for ten seconds.

These new cases will be available worldwide, now. They cost $24.99 and can be purchased right at this link. iPad cases aren't out yet, but aren't likely to be far behind. If this craze can hold on another month or so, I expect we'll see GEAR4 make another announcement.

Another month of sales seems pretty damn likely. The founder says that his game has been downloaded 42 million times. More than 25% of those were paid downloads. The game currently makes more than $1 million a month in ad revenue alone.
