Microsoft teased the HP Slate at last years' CES. The HP Slate 500 Windows 7 Tablet is on the market now aimed at business users, but is nowhere near to compete with the Apple iPad. According to the New York Times, Microsoft is trying again at the CES 2011.

Steve Ballmer is supposed oto unveil several Slates at the Microsoft CES 2011 keynote. The new Windows Slates are built by Dell, Samsung and others. Word about the new Samsung Gloria Windows Slate with slide-out keyword already got out last week in France. These new Microsoft Windows Tablets are supposed to still run Windows 7, which make them a failure from the get go. A hardware keyboard is not going to smooth over the fact that Windows 7 is not made for touch.

The New York Times also mentioned that a source told them that Steve Ballmer might show off a Windows 8 Tablet at the CES 2011.

The CES 2011 will open its doors on January 6th in Las Vegas. We will of course provide in-depth coverage all new CES 2011 announcements. Expect the first major CES News already in December. Find all CES 2011 News on our CES 2011 Hub.
