Don't Miss: This How to find Fingerlings in Stock

Would you commit to buy something you didn't know the price of?

Even though you have no idea how much it's going to cost in the end, you can already plunk down $25 to reserve your 3DS system at GameStop. Whenever it comes out, that is. We don't know that detail either.

GameStop's computers apparently began accepting pre-orders for the 3DS yesterday. That's according to a post on the Neogaf.com forums by a man who says he's a GameStop employee.

"All US based Game Stop stores will be taking reserves on the 3DS starting on the 26th. Depending on the place holder price you will be required to drop a minimum of $25 on a reserve," wrote the employee. "If your GS can't find it in their system the SKU is 020132."

Nintendo will be holding a press event in New York next month to reveal details about the American launch of the new system.

In Japan, the 3DS will launch on February 26, 2011 for a price of 25,000 yen, or about $300. That makes it the most expensive Nintendo system ever.

A number of games will be available from day one in Japan, including a new Legend of Zelda title, Super Monkey Ball, and a 3D version of Street Fighter IV.
