Look Ma! No Glasses!

LG has announced that it is giving geeks at CES 2011 the first glimpse at a screen that allows 3D on mobile devices without needing glasses. This is what most folks have been waiting for before they adopt 3D gadgets since most don't want to wear glasses.

The screen is a WVGA resolution touch sensitive unit with a resolution of 480 x 800. It measures 4.3-inches and allows the playing of video games and it can play movies as well all in 3D.

The screen uses an applied parallax barrier to allow the 3D effects to be seen. “LG sees tremendous growth potential in the 3D mobile display market,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of LG Mobile Communications Company. “With our key understanding of displays, entertainment and mobile technology, LG is looking forward to debuting this exciting new way to watch 3D movies or play games on your mobile phone.”
