Fiat North America Unveils 2012 Fiat 500 models in Detroit

Fiat comes to U.S.

Chrysler has brought the Fiat brand to the US for the 2012 year model. The Fiat line is very popular in Europe and for the first time Americans can get the popular Fiat 500. The car will have a 1.4L engine with MultiAir technology that improves efficiency of the vehicle.

“Detroit is our home base in America,” said Laura Soave, Head of Fiat Brand North America. “With our new 2012 Fiat 500 models marking our first North American International Auto Show appearance, we couldn’t have asked for a better way to launch the brand and start the New Year. Loaded with Italian style, the new 2012 Fiat 500 provides our customers with the perfect blend of emotional design, rational appeal, high level of standard features and personalization options for our customers’ individuality to be recognized wherever they go.”

The little car can seat four passengers and has a Bluetooth hands free system inside. It gets a six-speed auto transmission and will be offered in Fiat 500 Pop, Sport, and Lounge models. The Pop version gets manual transmission 15-inch steel wheels with chrome covers, robust audio system, power windows and locks and a lot more starting at $15,500.

The 500 Sport gets an Italian tunes suspension with unique front and rear fascias and a few other unique options starting at $17,500. The 500 Lounge is a car for the fashionable steps with chrome accents, fixed glass roof, premium cloth seats, and a lot more. The Lounge version starts at $19,500. The 500 line has 14 different paint colors and comes with black or ivory interior.
