TurboTax for smartphones

TurboTax has announced that it has a cool new app for Android and iPhone users called SnapTax. The app allows the smartphone user to fill out their tax forms and file their taxes directly from the smartphone.

The app is easy to use and to get most of the important data off your W2 forms all you need to do is take a picture of your forms. The needed data is taken from the photos and put into the tax forms. The user then answers questions about themselves and the tax forms are filled in for you.

The app works with the 1040EZ form only so if you need other forms you will have to find another way to file. The app is free to try and use, but filing costs $14.99. It appears the app will do state taxes as well. The app is on the Android Market and App Store right now.
