Apple announced that Steve Jobs is taking anohter medical leave. The company published an email Steve Jobs sent to all Apple employees.

The email says that the board of directors granted Steve Jobs a medical leave of absence so he can focus on his health. Steve Jobs stays though CEO and continues to be involved in major strategic decisions. Tim Cook takes on again day to day operations. Mr. Jobs makes an extra note that he and his family would deeply appreciate respect for their privacy.

Steve Jobs will be back as soon as he can.

Almost exactly two years ago Steve Jobs took a medical leave. He had a Liver transplant. If that is the reason for his new medical leave is not known and also should not matter. It is his health. Apple continued to run smoothly while Steve Jobs was absent.
