2012 Ford Fiesta Offers Buyers More Customization

Three new packages for 2012 add to options

I can totally understand why buyers would want to be able to customize their cars right from the dealer showroom and drive off with their car just how they want it. Custom cars are a passion with lots of people in the US and around the world. Many folks just don’t want to drive a car that looks like all the others on the road.

Ford has announced that the 2012 Fiesta will have a bunch of customization options that the driver can choose from. Ford will be offering three new interior packages and one new exterior package on the 2012 Fiesta. Ford says that about 40% of buyers of the Fiesta opt for at least one accessory and so far 26,000 Ford Custom Accessories have been purchased by Fiesta owners.

"The Fiesta customer loves accessories and personalization. These packages extend the desire the customer has to make the car more tailored to his or her own personal tastes," said Lew Echlin, Global Car marketing manager. "Personalization has been key since the Fiesta launched, and with the new packages we're featuring the latest design trends so customers can do even more with their car."

The new exterior package is called the premium sport appearance package and takes some cues from the awesome Euro Focus RS car with blacked out components painted in Tuxedo Black paint. In this package the side mirrors, headlamps, grill surround, license plate holder and upper rear hatch spoiler are painted black.

"The black trim pieces are the perfect way to complement the exterior of Fiesta and give it a completely unique look that our customers are looking for," said Richard Anderson, planning manager, Ford Vehicle Personalization. "Fiestas outfitted with this package will give off a race-like, sporty feel that's unique to this vehicle."

Inside the car, the buyer can opt for some cool touches on the Fiesta SEL and SES models with contrasting accent colors in oxford white or race red placed inside the car. The contrast color is on the center stack bezel, door panels, and vent trim rings. The steering wheel is also wrapped in two-tone leather, the shift knob has black leather, and the seats have contrasting leather and stitching. There are also many other options for personalization with an interior light kit that puts LED light in the cup holder and foot wells.
