Apple launches the iPad 2 and the white iPhone 4 in Japan today

Apple has delayed the launch of the iPad 2 in Japan because of the devastating earthquake. Today Apple is finally also bringing the new iPad 2 to Japanese Apple fans. Along with the iPad 2 the white iPhone 4 is also on sale. I guess many of the geeks in line will get a white iPad 2 and the matching white iPhone 4.

The lines in front of Japanese Apple Stores are in hundreds strong. stevenagata tweeted photos from the very long line in front of the Apple Ginza Store. ykzt tweeted an image of the line in front of the Sanlitum Apple Store. The Apple Stores are open now in Japan and the lines start to get shorter. Let's hope Apple has had plenty of iPad 2 stock.

Why is this important:
Apple is growing still strong in the United States, but much faster in Asia. The Asian markets, especially China, is where Apple will enjoy the biggest growth rates in the next years.

Today Apple is launching the white iPhone 4 in many countries including the United States. The Apple Store is down right now for maintenance.
