Apple Store 10th Anniversary is Today

Happy Birthday Apple Stores.

The first Apple Store opened on May 19th 2001. Apple has now over 300 stores world-wide. Happy Birthday Apple Stores and congratulations to this mega successful retail concept. It is not clear yet if Apple is going to celebrate this anniversary officially. Rumors about an Apple Store upgrade dubbed Apple Store 2.0 are fill the rumor mill. All points though to a launch of the new changes on the weekend and not today.

What has been rumored so fare about Apple Store 2.0 includes the use of the iPad 2 as interactive signage and new retail terminals. New Startup Bars are supposed to help customers get their new Apple products personalized and configured. Apple is also supposed to release a new Apple Store app with new features using location awareness. Steve Jobs was supposed involved in the Apple Store 2.0 upgrade.

We will of course continue to closely observe Apple today if they are announcing anything today.
