It appears that the iPhone OS may be expanding to additional devices. RedmondPie reports that a recent Apple job posting hints at this. Apple is looking for an engineer to manage several software engineers in bringing the iPhone OS to new platforms.

The exact wording of the ad was, “...a team focused on bring-up of iPhone OS on new platforms.” It seems pretty straightforward. What on earth could Apple want to move their OS onto? This does not seem like a move of the Apple we've come to know and vaguely distrust.
