Apple was Briefly more Worth Than Exxon Mobile Today

Don't Miss: This How to find Fingerlings in Stock

Amidst the market turmoils Apple was the most valuable U.S. company for a short time. Now Exxon Mobile is slightly ahead again.

For a brief moment today Apple was the most valuable U.S. company. Most people expected Apple to reach that goal in Fall with all the cool things to happen then. The iPhone 5 launch along with iOS 5 and the iCloud should be getting Apple Stock above $500. Right now Apple is trading at $365. The crazy stock market reactions over the last days amidst fears of Armageddon has mixed things up. Exxon Mobile stock totally tanked and Apple recovered today a bit faster. Now both companies are pretty close in terms of market cap:

Apple (AAPL): $339 Billion (2:23pm EDT)
Exxon Mobile (XOM): $341 Billion (2:23pm EDT)

So anytime Apple can be again the most valuable company.

Update:
Today (August 10) Apple is the most valuable company. The markets have closed and Apple came out above Exxon Mobile in a down market.
