I have watched my iPad sitting on the couch or in my office chair on more than one occasion. The thing I often end up doing is simply putting a throw pillow underneath and propping the tablet in my lap. The problem with that is that if you move too much the iPad can fall if you don't have a hand on it. A company called Veyl Products has a cool new device called the ePillow that keeps that iPad in place and props it up.

The Veyl ePillow might be perfect for the people that travel a lot on trains, busses or planes with their iPad or other tablet. The ePillow has a strap on the back to secure to your rolling carry on. The leather wrapped edge of the stand is deep enough that you can wiggle around while watching or using the iPad without worrying it will simply slide off your lap.

The thick cushioned pillow also makes holding the iPad in your lap very comfortable. If you place the iPad into the Veyl ePillow in landscape mode you can even access the charge port to keep your device going. I tested the Veyl ePillow with my iPad, but it should work with just about any tablet or smartphone.

The little pocket on the front to the right of the slot for your tablet is sized for headphones and other small items. The only downside is that if you poke your headphones or other item all the way into the pocket, getting it back out will be a pain. This is due to the very narrow opening of the little pocket. The inside of that pocket is lined with the faux leather to make slipping things in and out of the pocket easier.

  • Easy to use
  • Well padded

  • Expensive

The Veyl ePillow is a very cool product if you want your iPad a lot sitting down. It is a bit expensive considering it's simply a pillow with an indent, but there is no denying how easy it is to use and it works well.
