Asian supply chain thinks Ice Cream Sandwich will not spur Android Tablet sales.

Android is not taking off in the tablet market as it did in the smartphone sector. The tablet market is still dominated by the Apple iPad. Google is launching the next Android update this fall dubbed Ice Cream Sandwich. Little is known about this update, but a recent rumor says that it will not be a big update. Game changing features have been moved to Jelly Bean. Digitimes reports today that the hardware makers are also not confident about Ice Cream Sandwich. They do not see how this new Android update will change anything in the fight against the iPad.

They already forget about the holiday business and put their hopes on Windows 8 and Jelly Bean Android in 2012. Looks like the Android camp is already giving up and the holiday shopping season in the tablet sector belongs to Apple. We expect though still new Android tablets to come out based on the new "magically" powerful NVIDIA Kal-El chip. If Ice Cream Sandwich is though not compelling the raw performance of Kal-El will not help.
