Apple has stated that it plans to release the iPad in "late March" and now there are online news sources that suggest Apple Stores will begin selling the tablet device on March 26.
Tech news publication Examiner cites an unnamed Apple Store manager as saying that store employees will first see the iPad on March 10, and that a March 26 retail launch is "very likely".
Like the iPhone launch, the iPad will reportedly go on sale at the unusual time of 6:00 PM - that detail is being reported by MacRumors.com, which also claims to have heard from Apple insiders. Additionally, commercials for the device will reportedly hit the airwaves on March 15 and people who camp out to be the first to buy will receive a "special gift".
The launch will apply only to the Wi-Fi version of the iPad. The 3G model is set to come out next month.
