The new iPhone is just a few months away, and we still have no real idea what it will look like. While official pictures of the new iPhone are in short supply, there's always a high-quality mock-up or two (via PMP Today) that hits the web as we get closer to launch.

This latest concept design is one of the better-looking ones I've seen. It supposes an iPhone with a glossy and plasticky frame, a bigger touchscreen, microSD reader, and a front-facing 2 megapixel camera. An iPhone with a microSD card...yeah right! And one day I'll be the king of all Siam.

The larger touchscreen is very possible, but the front-facing camera seems quite unrealistic. The carriers aren't ready for video-calling, especially not on the scale an iPhone with those capabilities would necessitate. In addition to that, there isn't much sign of a huge desire among rank-and-file consumers for video-calling.

As neat as it seems, there's little practical purpose for it on a day-to-day basis. Sure, it's nice when you're trying to keep in touch from halfway across the planet, but it's a pain in the ass when you just need to make a call.
