Coby tablets should be cheap

Coby Electronics is gearing up for CES 2012 next month and has announced that it will be showing off new tablets at the show running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. You can bet that there will be hoards of Android ICS tablets at CES this year. The Coby offerings will come in several screen sizes with five different models.

The tablets will include the 7" MID7042, 8" MID8042 (4:3 aspect ratio), 9" MID9042, 9.7" MID9742 (4:3 aspect ratio), and 10" MID1042. All of the tablets will share the same hardware. The processor is a 1GHz ARM Cortex A8 and they will all have capacitive multitouch screens. The tablets will have up to 1GB of RAM and storage that is expandable to 32GB.

Other features will include WiFi, HDMI output, and more. It's not clear if the tablets will support the full Android market. Pricing is also unannounced. I would bet there would be full details at CEs in a few weeks.
