App Inventor for all!

Back in January, I mentioned that MIT was working on a new Android application development package called App Inventor. At the time, it was in closed beta and according to MIT over the last few months, it has ramped the number beta users up to 5000. MIT is now set to open that beta round even further.

MIT has announced open beta preview where anyone who wants App Inventor can go over and download the software. App Inventor is a software suite that makes it easy to develop Android applications, even if you aren't a programmer. The software has little building blocks of code to make app building process as easy as possible.

MIT does point out that you should expect some issues with the software since it is still in beta. They are still working on a few glitches and other minor errors. This will also be the first time App Inventor has been open for use to so many people at the same time. MIT session you be sure and download and save your apps if you use the software in case any issues arise.
