Movie sales could start as early as summer

The Android Market recently changed names to Google Play. Along with the name change came some new integration for e-books and other content. Sources are saying that Google is now considering selling movies whereas now it only rents them. Android users that wanted to own a movie have had to buy them elsewhere.

According to some sources, Hollywood studios are putting pressure on Google to sell films in exchange for being allowed access to streaming rental versions. I'm not sure why Google wouldn't want to sell movies, some people prefer to own rather than rent. Some sources say that movies could be up for sale on Google Play by the summer.
