IKEA is offering a complete TV and AV furniture product called UPPLEVA.

IKEA partnered with TCL to for an integrated TV and home entertainment solution. The IKEA UPPLEVA is a AV furniture with integrated TV and Blu-ray player starting at 6,500 Swedish Krona (~$950). The design is pretty clean and solves the issues of cable mess. The furniture doors are covered with fabric so IR remotes continue to work with the hidden devices. UPPLEVA is modular and you can extend it with additional furniture options. IKEA will offer several TV sizes and colors.

The IKEA UPPLEVA goes on sale in June 2012. Below you can watch a video presentation of the UPPLEVA.

I think IKEA made a mistake here to bundle TV and Blu-ray player. They should have just offered the modular AV furniture solution. It is not easy to find smart and affordable AV furniture. This is the market need. I do not want a TCL TV and Blu-ray player. Most people do not want that, but most people have the need for AV furniture that hides the device and cable mess.
