Rumors from the Supply Chain say that Apple will adopt a new touchscreen technology called In-cell Touch Panels.

Sharp and Toshiba Mobile make new touchscreen panels called In-Cell Touch Panels. Digitimes reports that Apple is rumored to use In-cell Touch Panels in the iPhone 5. If true than Apple's current Touch Panel providers TPK Holdings and Wintek have a problem.

The advantage of In-cell Touch Panels is that they are thinner and lighter as this touch panel technology gets rid of one glass layer reports Redmond Pie.

Apple is also rumored to use Liquid Metal for the case. Combined with In-Cell touch Panels the new iPhone 5 might be incredibly light, but still extremely sturdy.
