Recall covers the US, Canada and other countries

Chrysler has issued a recall on almost 87,000 Jeep Wrangler vehicles in the 2010 model year. The recall is due to the risk of fire when debris gets caught between a plate that protect the transmission in the catalytic converter. Jeep has had 14 reports of fire due to this issue.

The fix for the fire hazard is to replace the plate with a metal bar. The repairs will be made at no charge to owners. The recall only affects 2010 model year Wrangler vehicles with an automatic transmission.
