Waterproof camcorder is ready for the beach or the pool

Along with the new digital camera that I just mentioned, Sony has also announced that its waterproof HDR-GW 77 camcorder will be coming to America. This camera was unveiled a few months ago as a Japanese only item. The big feature is that camera can record full HD video underwater at depths of up to 16 feet. The video camera is also shockproof and dustproof and is capable of recording 60 frames per second audio and taking 20.4 megapixel still images.

The camera has a 3-inch touchscreen that will work underwater and also has a underwater color correction mode. The camera also features a number of smart modes including Sony's Sweep Panorama mode. The camera can store up to four hours a full HD video to the integrated 16 GB of flash storage. The camera also has Optical Steady Shot technology and integrated GPS. The camera will ship later this month for $700.
