Project Sputnik coming this fall

Dell has announced that as part of its Project Sputnik to develop a notebook for Linux developers, the XPS 13 ultrabook will come with Linux this fall. There is no specific date given for the launch of the tablet and the price isn't mentioned. Dell says that it will be offered in various geographies.

The machine will specifically run Ubuntu 12.04LTS for the operating system. "Since we announced project Sputnik a little over two months ago, we have continued to be amazed by the amount and quality of interest and input we have received," said Barton George, project Sputnik lead and director Dell's web vertical marketing.
