Apple stops AppleID Password Reset over Phone

Apple reacts to social hacking of Mat Honan's account.

As reported Wired journalist Mat Honan got hacked in epic proportions. It was possible because the hacker tricked Apple Support to reset Honan's iCloud password. According to Wired sources Apple has suspended the AppleID password reset via Apple's phone support for now.

Apple is reviewing the security policies. Maybe it is time for Apple to also offer 2-step verification like Google. It is somewhat a pain to verify your credential with a pin sent via your mobile phone, but it is way more secure.
