A leaked FedEx memo confirms the September 21 shipping date of the iPhone 5.

The iPhone 5 will be unveiled this Wednesday September 12. This date is official. The Apple rumor mill is talking already since a while about Apple launching the iPhone 5 pre-order right after the announcement. The shipping of the iPhone 5 would then start on September 21.

Now MacRumor got a hold on an internal FedEx memo that announces a surge volume for Sept. 21 to Sept. 24.

Rumored features of the new iPhone 5 include a larger screen, A6 CPU, iOS 6, small dock connector and 4G LTE. The overall design would not change dramatically. The backside material is not glass anymore as Apple introduces a metal unibody design. The rumors also say that the iPhone 5 is very thin.
