The tech world praises the iPhone 5, but also says it is boring - in a good way.

Apple unveiled the new iPhone 5 yesterday. It is a master piece in every regard. Apple managed to put more into a thinner and lighter gadget. The response for the tech press is very positive. As expected. The narrative is that the iPhone 5 is the best smartphone, but it is boring. Wired calls it even utterly boring, but that does not mean it is a bad thing. The iPhone 5 just works the best way a smartphone can today. You get everything you want done. Only exception is Siri. Siri just sucks. It does not matter how often Apple tells me that Siri is great, I still cannot get her to do anything.

It is not important that it is not coming in different colors and a freaky new wedge design. MG Siegler on TechCrunch has the best way of describing the iPhone 5. He takes a quote from the movie The Prestige. The Apple focuses on the Turn and not on the Prestige.

The iPhone 5 goes on pre-order tomorrow at carriers and Apple Stores. The sales of the iPhone 5 starts on September 21. Expect long lines. The smart thing to do is pre-order the iPhone 5.
