No word on when manufacturers will update individual smartphones

Intel has announced that it has completed the work needed to port Android 4.1 Jelly Bean to smartphones running its Medfield processors. However, Intel points out that he can't speak for carriers and manufacturers as to when the update for Android will come to their individual devices. Most Medfield smartphones shipped using Android 2.3 or Android 4.0.

So far Intel has smartphones on the market using its Medfield chips from Orange, ZTE, Lava International, Lenovo, and Megafon. Rumors persist that Motorola could announce a smartphone using Medfield chips very soon. The Android update still has to go to carrier testing before it can be offered on smartphones.
