Black iPhone 5 Bruises like a Peach?

Some early iPhone 5 customers report that the aluminum body scratches easily, especially on the edges. Some even report that their black iPhone 5 has scratches out of the box.

The iPhone 5 has been on sale since 8am in major regions around the world. So far the complaints have only been about the Apple Maps app. Now reports and images of scratched black iPhone 5 appear in forums like on MacRumors. The aluminum body of the black iPhone 5 is anodized. This could be the weak point in the overall extreme sturdy iPhone 5. Especially the edges of the iPhone 5 look like they wear rather easy and reveal the silver aluminum underneath.

Apple is not offering a case for the iPhone 5 and also many including me believe that putting an iPhone 5 in a case is wrong. On the other hand it is not cool if the thing is all scratched up on the back within a couple days of use. Should I have ordered the white iPhone 5 instead?

By the way, theiPhone 5 I pre-ordered last Friday within the first 60 minutes was initially marked to be shipped with a 1-2 weeks delay. Today I received a shipping notice that it will arrive on Monday. As I said before, Apple is always a bit too pessimistic about shipping time frames.
