Survey Finds 50% Of US Adults Own A Tablet Or Smartphone

21% of Android tablets are the Kindle Fire

During the summer, a survey was conducted of 9513 adults in the United States by Pew Research Center. The survey found that 22% of adults in the US on the tablet and 44% on the smartphone. A similar survey conducted in 2011 found that roughly 11% of US adults on the tablet and 35% of the smartphone.

The survey found that 52% of tablet owners had an iPad and 48% used an Android tablet. 21% of those Android tablets were Kindle Fires. The survey also found that iPad users will more likely to use the tablet for news while Android tablet users more likely to use the tablets access social networks.
