JCPenney Black Friday 2012 is All About Buttons

JCPEnney unveiled their Black Friday 2012 plans and it involves 80 million buttons.

JPenney, under the lead of former Apple retail boss Ron Johnson has unveiled the JCPenney Black Friday 2012 details. JPenney launches a unique marketing promotion involving 80 million buttons.

For one day only, customers will find additional savings on hundreds of items that will be reduced from the already low prices available at jcpenney and In addition to these deals, customers shopping at jcp stores from Black Friday through Christmas Eve will receive holiday buttons that can be redeemed for a chance to win one of 20 million exciting gifts.

"Black Friday is America's greatest shopping tradition and we're celebrating the occasion with our only sale of the year," said Ron Johnson, chief executive officer of jcpenney. "All day long, customers will find some of our lowest prices ever and the chance to win amazing gifts, including once in a lifetime trips to great American destinations. It's our way of kicking off the holiday season and saying, 'Merry Christmas, America!'"

Throughout the holiday season, jcpenney team members will hand out more than 80 million buttons to customers at jcpenney stores – no purchase required. Each collectible button features one of 50 classic designs and whimsical expressions reflecting wonderful holiday traditions. A unique code on the back can be entered online at for a one in four chance of winning a gift.

On Black Friday alone, 100 vacations to exciting American destinations that include Washington D.C., New York City and Yellowstone National Park will be given away along with trips to Los Angeles to see a taping of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show." One additional trip will be awarded each day through Christmas Eve. Customers can also win gift cards ranging from $5 to $500; holiday certificates good for $5 or $10 off a jcp purchase; and merchandise including watches, diamond earrings, kitchen electrics, vacuums, critter hats and more.

More than 1,100 jcpenney stores will open their doors at 6 a.m. on Black Friday.

Through its charitable giving program, jcp cares, jcpenney is making it possible for customers to give back this season. From Nov. 23 to Dec. 31, customers can support The Salvation Army by rounding up their store purchases to the nearest dollar and donating the difference to the organization's Red Kettle Campaign. With more than 25,000 red kettles at store fronts and shopping malls nationwide, this annual fundraiser helps to provide meals, clothing and toys to families who need it most. The Salvation Army's iconic red kettle will be featured as one of the button designs to signify the importance of their mission in communities across the country.
